I've owned the Francis x1 Iperespresso for two weeks now. Here's my take:PACKAGING- Impeccable, very well protected for shipping.INSTRUCTIONS- In all major languages, the guide clearly walks you through every step in what is truly a simple set up process.QUALITY- First rate, nearly industrial grade with but a couple minor exceptions not worth mentioning.COOL FACTOR- I think it IS cool; you'll have to judge that for yourself.OTHER OPTIONS: I've only had previous experience with Nespresso machines, of which I've owned several. But Nespresso does not offer the quality of coffee that I prefer. In my opinion, it's mostly for lungos and soft lattes. If you like high intensity coffee, as I do, the Nespresso alternative is probably not for you.SUPPLIERS FOR THE COFFEE CAPSULES- There are many, including Amazon, which of course you can google for. In my case, Amazon does not ship illy coffee to my location in San Juan, PR, so I ordered it elsewhere. Five cans of Dark Roast capsules. The cans, which I read should be stored in a cool place or in the fridge after opening, are vacuum sealed and come with 21 capsules. After a very simple set up, I poured myself a terrific cup of macchiatto which I really enjoyed.BUYING- Of course, I shopped around before ordering from Amazon. I couldn't find a better deal, and with free shipping to San Juan, what more could I have asked for.PERSONAL EXPERIENCE- After a couple of weeks, I'm thrilled with my X-1 Iperespresso. It is very easy to use and requires minimal maintenance, just refilling the water tank and occasionally emptying and cleaning the drip tray.

I've owned an X-1 for five years. It's seen daily use in all that time. It works great, makes good coffee, and is easy to clean.Plus, it really does look cool.

We love Illy coffee in our house and have used their Francis Francis machines for a long time. Looks are great, but I'm very disappointed by this machine.First one arrived and was defective. Luckily Amazon is wonderful and shipped us another one.Second one worked. Coffee is great. Iperespresso makes life so easy. But the steam function is dreadful. They have this black attachment that constantly flies off into the milk jug while you are frothing, froth is too bubbly and never hot enough. I've given this machine a couple of months for me to get used to but it doesn't get better. Called Illy customer support and they say the steam wand can become loose after multiple cleanings and reattachments. It started happening straight away.I'm going to find an X7 with the old style wand and go back to that. Save your $600 here.
