I am very disappointed in this coffeemaker. First of all, the clock does not have a backlight and is difficult (impossible) to read even in good light. Also, the carafe has a somewhat sharp/rough edge and will cause injury if not careful. The edge needs to be smoothed out by rolling the stainless steel rim of the carafe under. I bought this coffeemaker to replace using instant coffee and having to brew a cup each time I wanted coffee. Because of the rim, it now just sits on my counter top taking up space. I'm back to using instant coffee. I would not recommend buying it.
