4good, solid product
By J. Kaye
I suspect the first reviewer here couldn't figure out how to use the product. It's not complicated, but it isn't as simple as turning it on and pressing a button. It happens to be make a great espresso, the frothing unit works well, and it's easy to clean. The product has a nice solid weight and a fine finish, it looks pretty solid and a cut above the plastic shell units that sell for less money.I recommend it as a good bridge product -- not quite professional but better than the most readily available espresso makers.

4Great Manual Espresso Maker
By F. Cech
This is a good machine with basic functionality and no complicated gadgets or electronics to breakdown. That's a good thing as SAECO has a dubious reputation for service support. This machine lasted us 10 years (a Starbucks "barrista" branded unit). After considering more complicated replacements we came back to what we know and trust.

5No problems after about 5 years of daily use.
By Tucker Mac
The thing has been reliable. No problems there. The nicest feature about Saeco machines is that they don't use that little pinhole outlet to raise pressure and serve as an outlet. The Saeco uses a spring-loaded valve with a much greater diameter that opens at the desired pressure. The difference is that this never clogs. You would appreciate it when the valve gets clogged, and when you remove the basket, pressurized coffee slurry explodes all over the kitchen. The water reservior is huge. It's not easily removed. After a year of use with constant topping off, I removed it once to find a lot of algae in it! Yucch! I added to the length of the inlet tube and ran it into a bottle of water that I keep behind it. I refill it once a week, and can easily wash it. I wish this had a smaller tank and it was easily removable. It would be perfect then.
